Goodbye to the Daffodils?
So far, the daffs have endured some very cold nights but the next few may be a challenge for them. So I brought a few inside for us to enjoy--and for the pictures that I may use as subjects to paint later on.
Ours are still standing, and some haven't even opened their flowers yet. We haven't had a real freeze here, but we've come close. Magnolias, cherries, plums, bradford pears are in bloom all over the DC area, and the Yoshino cherries at the Tidal Basin are approaching peak bloom. Everything is in sync, but early. This may be the new normal from now on.

Good idea. Painting a white flower is a neat challenge, but very doable.

The regular once’s at least are pretty hardy. I have seen them bent over in the sow and wind yet still live to thrive.
Gorgeous!
Poet Robert Herrick said it well...
Fair Daffodils, we weep to see
You haste away so soon;
Ours are gone, too. Much too soon! Have a grand week!
