Hallelujah!

It's the light at the end of the tunnel! It's a new day dawning!

It's clouds rolling away and blue skies ahead!

It's an email from Herself saying that the pruning away of excess material in The Day of Small Things (aka Birdie's book) worked for her and that the results were "spellbinding!"

The manuscript is in copy editing now -- when that's done, I'll get it back and address whatever further small changes are required. But for now . . .

O happy day!

(If I could turn a cartwheel, I would!)

Vicki...I noticed you are reading Fanny Kemble. Is that the Catherine Clinton book? I got an ARC in 1999 of her book and loved it! Makes me want to re-read it!

What I'm reading is an edited (by Elizabeth Mavor)edition of Kemble's journals of her travels in America. Fascinating! She married a plantation owner and right now I'm at the part where she is being a good deal shocked at the treatment of the slaves.

Spellbinding!
WHAT a great word!
And what great news - I love it!
(how 'bout a little somersault?!)

Wow! Spellbinding??!!! Congratulations, Vicki - can't wait to see it in print. I still find myself thinking back to that small excerpt you posted on your amazon.com blog awhile ago - it has stayed with me (which is one of the best things about a great book).

I was just thinking about you and the Birdie book this morning as I got ready for work. How frustrating it must be at this point, so I'm very glad to hear that Ms. Birdie has passed the test with flying colors. (For ALL our sakes! ha...) :-)

Yeah, I like that word 'spell binding' too. There's more than a little magic in this book.

But the feeling of RELIEF -- that I'm almost done with Birdie ( there will be some small fiddling when I get the ms. back from the copy editor but at least no major upheavals await me) is WONDERFUL!

Tra la! Tra la! she chortled.

Congratulations! I am impressed by the work you've already done so far and it was nice to hear on the video how you persevered in writing in spite of what Bill said. And you have been successful for a long time now.
Thanks for your visit! Have a nice day!

Thank you, Reader Wil - but you know what? I think that probably I persevered BECAUSE of what Bill said! :-)
