Hymn to Time

HYMN TO TIME

                                               by Ursula K. Le Guin

                               Time says “Let there be”
                               every moment and instantly
there is space and the radiance
                               of each bright galaxy.

                                And eyes beholding radiance.
                                And the gnats’ flickering dance.
                                And the seas’ expanse.
                                And death, and chance.

                                   Time makes room
                                   for going and coming home
                                   and in time’s womb
                                   begins all ending.

                                  Time is being and being
time, it is all one thing,
                                   the shining, the seeing,
                                   the dark abounding.

pictures from the Hubble telescope -- nope, not mine. Nor John's.

Yet Another Sequence

Snake feels itchy . . . kinda twitchy . . .

Time to shed skin . . . find a way in . . .

Climb up here. . . the place is near . . .

To the top . . . no time to stop . . .

In the greenhouse, scrape and slide . . .
Peeling, revealing brand new hide . . .

Leave the old tired skin behind . . .
On the shelf for her to find.

Rainbow Sequence

Despite all the rain we've had, rainbows have been scarce. So I was delighted to catch this one Monday evening.

It even managed a faint double . . .

Very faint . . .

I just wish Josie had been here as she's very into rainbows -- whether from the prisms in the kitchen or in her clothing.

Sunrise Sequence . . . Thanks to John

John was up before dawn (and before 6 am) on Saturday and caught these almost Summer Solstice sunrise shots.  I tried to edit them down to fewer pics but found myself unable to get rid of any of them.

The red glow . . .

The swirling mist . . .

The golding sky . . .

Shuttered by  . . .

The subtle water color clouds

 The tease . . .

And, at last, the reveal.
