Amazing big birds...at least no waddle in their gait. Just thinking of a goose or two I see around our lake (come to think of it, I didn't see any this week!) So your thoughts just fly/walk these days!
Wild turkeys flourish at Great Falls National Park on the Potomac up the road from us. Cars on the park road have to stop for them when they decide to amble across. They know they're safe from any harm there and rule the space. Which is as it should be.
How nice to see wild turkeys. Some people wanted the turkey as the national bird of the USA but the bald eagle was chosen, I like both eagles and turkeys.

I learned that turkeys eat the ticks. A good thing. We've had some in the back field though they head for the downed apples from our daughter's trees.

We have TG weekend coming up. Turkeys had better run fast.
