What Iris Is This?

These iris are from roots given to me long ago. They look like an early relative of the showier Bearded Irises.

Does anyone have a name for them?

Heirlooms! The old itis look so different from today's huge, showy flowers. Wish I could grow them, but our soil is infested with borers, and the only solution would be drowning the yard with poison. A neighbor warned me when I was creating our garden, and when I planted some I soon found out they wouldn't grow here.

"Iris petit tigre" perhaps? A variety of Bearded Irises.

DOn't know but they are cute. The iris you sent last year has plenty of leaves but no evidence of buds forming. Maybe it's a late one here.
