Thanks to Jenny

...who makes sure I'm up for the sunrise...

I've been on a book de-accessioning tear these past few days. Five large boxes are waiting to be taken to the library book sale. (Five have already gone.)I'm thinking of my kids and the massive sorting they will eventually be faced with--so I'm getting rid of books I don't think they would want and I know I'll never re-read.

I've done the shelves in the living room and in the hall and in my bedroom. That leaves my workroom and the bookshelves in the other upstairs.  (John's study is bursting with books but that's not my concern.)

Onward

We did that book clean out when we moved in 2016. Ever heard of the book The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning? It's a great read but don't buy a copy, borrow it from the library. It's all about how we need to do the purging of our "stuff" and not leave it as a burden to our children.

I finished Art's Blood yesterday. I kept thinking that Rosemary's childhood experience was going to factor in to the story but it was just your hook to get the reader to come back for the third book. I do have Old Wounds sitting here to read. but I need to reread Lincoln Highway for Tuesday's book discussion.

It is oddly satisfying to clear a load of books, even if hard to do. I'm very conscious of seeking to simplify life admin and possessions for the sake of my daughter when I'm gone. You only have to experience being someone's executor once, to see how necessary order is!

One more thing I should do... For two years the libraries were close to traffic and no sales were held. But now I no longer have that excuse.
