Judy's Chimney

A lone sentinel marks the spot when the thirteen victims of the Shelton Laurel Massacre were held the night before being marched off to their deaths.

This chimney is all that remains of Judy Shelton's cabin. . .

This means so much to me now that I read your book. Is the property still owned by her descendants?

That's really interesting, having read your book. The stories the chimney might tell...

Oh my...after reading your book I tried lookin on maps to find Shelton...my friends and I wanted to go see it. Not on any of them. So I am glad you know of this chimney...shivers to think of its history.

I believe the property is still owned by her descendants. There is a mobile home sitting quite near the chimney. When I stopped to take the picture, a dog barked frantically but no one appeared.

Oh my! What a surprise — somewhat poignant to me now.
