First day of first grade. When I was waiting to pick her up,
I saw her walking to the pickup spot, hand in hand with another little girl. In the car, I asked how her day had been.
Amazing! she said. And I made a bracelet!
Whew!
Also amazing--we are at last seeing more than the occasional solitary butterfly.
Not the hordes of days gone by but a welcome presence.

Josie and Meema, you made it!The school year is safe!
I think Josie will love first grade, and excel in every way. But wow, what a big backpack!
We're also seeing more butterflies -- yellow tiger swallowtails. Not the number we used to see, but half a dozen at a time on the butterfly bush make a beautiful sight.
That's nice. My grands are at the stage where high school is anything but amazing. This saddens me somewhat.
Great start to the school year...kudos to the wonderful smart amazing little Josie! And it's somewhat sad, but also happy to see some butterflies still.
Long may it continue to be 'amazing'!
Oh Vicki, I love this so much. I can feel it in my heart! Today was Ayla's first day in 1st grade also--I haven't heard from her yet how it went.
