Democrat Katie Hobbs wins the governor's race in Arizona, defeating MAGA babe and election denier Kari Lake!
Bit by bit, the madness is draining away. I'm feeling better about my country and my fellow citizens than I have in quite a while.
Now if only the Orange Embarrassment would give up politics to devote more time to his family golf and to all the pending lawsuits. On the other hand, if he runs again, we can expect the implosion of the GOP.

Yes Yes Yes
That is good news. I saw Kari Lake a few times on the News over here. What evil propaganda she spouts.
If they are election deniers, we must be Democracy Affirmers. Or Rule of Law Embracers. Or just plain ole Constitutional Supporters. Any more?
I read that this morning too and sighed in relief. Kari is a mess of lies. Haven't read how she handled it and no mention that she thinks her loss was a stolen election.
Right on, Vicki. Thirteen women are set to take office as governor in 2023. How sweet it is.
Have you seen Cruz's rant about the republicans' poor showing? I had a good laugh over that. The republicans will have the House majority, but by an embarrassingly slender majority. The Senate is safe for another two years, regardless of what happens in Florida.
I feel as if I can breathe again. Wish there could be a 'squeak by' in the House - but where we are is a lot better than it was looking a couple of weeks ago. Now, if sanity also prevails in Georgia... That race is still important for several reasons.
I love it that several comments are from outside the UC--England and France (with a Canadian chiming in on Facebook.) The whole world is watching to see if democracy will survive in the USA.
I think this Kari Lake is a snake hiding as a woman (with apology to snakes…) In a way I think it’s good the former guy had not been indicted yet because he may not have pushed all those election diniers to run and the Republicans might have received more votes on better candidates. Now let’s wait for our Georgia Rev. Warnock – he’s got to win.
An implosion would suit me fine.
