Feeling, if not joyful, at least relieved. Locally our current (D) sheriff was re-elected over the candidate (R) who used a hammer as a prop. The school board went the way (D) I'd hoped. (Our schools have been amazing.)
Delighted that snake-oil salesman Oz was rejected. And Sarah Palin seems to be losing.
Lots is still pending but the Red Wave didn't happen. Thank heavens for folks who believe in decency.

Well, the Congress houses may go either way still...I'm not losing any sleep over it. Heck, with Hurricane Nicole (or tropical storm) hitting Tampa about now, that's enough to keep me worried.
And there was no violence at the polls. It was a peaceful election. Yes, it could have been far worse.
Hear , hear. I whole heartedly agree.
Until the Republican party either ejects its nutjobs or splits into separate Conservative and Nutjob parties, I will not breathe easy. And then breathe easy only if the Nutjob Party is obviously in too small a minority for active, sleepless night worry. (Although I'd keep an uneasy eye on it, all the same.)
Seems somewhat better than expected.
While we could have hoped for better, it was much better than our fears.
