I'll Be Back

Somehow, I seem to have become 79. Dang! My mother died at 69 and one of her friends told me, "She would have hated to be 70." I don't feel that way.

My seventies have been pretty good--though I do find it sobering/amazing that in another year I'll be 80. But I know so many 80+ year old who are living their best life, so I'll just say, So far, so good.

Consider the alternative . . .

...and many more, Vicki.

I'll be 86 soon. Every day on the green side of the grass is a gift...some appreciated and enjoyed more than others.

Happy Birthday. I have 8 years before I reach that milestone.

Happy birthday, Vicki. I wonder at what point we actually begin to celebrate not our youth but our age?

Happy birthday, Vicki. I am right behind you and also can hardly believe I've reached this age.

Happy birthday, Vicki!

I'm a handful of years behind you, but am also trying to figure out how the heck I got to be this age so quickly.

Happy Birthday! I just celebrated my 80th birthday and find that to be amazing. I'm an only child, whose mother and father died at 51 (cancer) and 69 (heart). Every day is a blessing.....

I'm a year ahead of you, shy two weeks, and still wonder how I got here. Happy birthday.

Happy Birthday, Vicki. They say it's just a number, but I don't know how old "they" are. Thank you again for leaving a comment on my blog yesterday about my dear little white dog. It meant a lot to me.

I'm so happy you got here and will be back. Happy Birthday!
Yesterday, my sister asked, rather tongue-in-cheek, "Are we old?"
"Mature, well seasoned" was my reply. Ha!

Happy Birthday, Vicki. 80s is a pretty wonderful decade to be nearing. My husband and I both turned 82 this last year, and except for some picky conditions that make us take more pills, we love our life in this period. Well, we've loved every period. But this one is a good one, too! Have a great day today.
