Super Moon

The weather wasn't particularly cooperative for last night's moonrise. . .

Just at the moon emerged from behind the trees,
clouds swept across the sky . . .

Gaps opened and closed . . .

A bit of Noyes 'ghostly galleon, tossed upon cloudy seas' was the best I could do.

An hour or so later, she was visible once more.

(The first one is missing)

Yours came out better than mine. Mine stink.

Some really nice shots, Vicki. I'd forgotten all about it.

Those clouds make for a dramatic appearance of La Luna, beautifully captured!

I looked at the moon last night, as I went to sleep, too lazy to go get the camera. It was a cloudless sky and pretty sight.

I'm glad you posted some pictures, as we were totally clouded over on this side of the mountains. Even with the clouds, your pictures are really neat!

I love your photos Vicki, what a moon. There was a Uisneach (Druidic centre of Ireland) full moon festival of fire celebration here in Ireland last night. Hugs, Margie.

ARGH! We had clear skies, but I forgot! Until midnight. The moon was so bright it was like snowfall outside. I could even see a shaft of moonlight through the trees.

Really cool shots in my opinion.

We stood and gazed at the moon last night, choosing to leave the cameras safely inside because I'm always so disappointed when I can't capture what my eyes are seeing. It was beautiful!

Gorgeous pictures. I think a moon picture needs some clouds to enhance it. It was cloudless here and though I spent time looking at the large moon and how beautiful it was, I don't think my pictures did it justice.

Without clouds the moon would feel so lonely!

At least you captured it- I missed it completely. Slept right through it! Arghhh!

Cloudy here---but I loved all the hoopla leading up to the moon. We weren't talking about politics, nor celebrities, nor disaster---we were talking about la bella luna. very refreshing.

Deana the Queena, whose moon sign is the moon. I wonder what moooon sign Marigold has?

Oh, Deana -- what a pun! But so true, it was pleasant to have everyone paying attention to something so beautiful and so benign.
