Out the Window

This has been the view from my hotel window -- the sky's impressive and, my goodness there's a lot of it! And look how flat it is out there -- "good tractor land" as they say around here -- if it weren't for all the concrete.

The Indiana Capitol Building is nice-- aglow at night then pink and pretty in the morning light.
But I like my old familiar view the best -- it's good to be home!

Love hearing from my friends in the UK -- yep, Martin, the picture taking opportunities are much better here -- for my taste.

Welcome back! Much fun as it would have been to be there and squeal at you again (maybe next year?), it is lovely to slide between the sheets of your own bed and know that you will wake up in your own house. Congratulations again on the nomination.

It's interseting to see the same building with different angles of view or different lights !

Hello KM -- Welcome and thanks for stopping by! Were you at Bouchercon?
I checked out your blog -- looks interesting!

Carol -- now it's just a matter of catch up with mail and laundry and such. Thank goodness John is making pizza tonight -- I don't have to worry about dinner anyway!

Wish you could have been there, Karen! We could have both squealed -- and then gone and had lunch or something. Not sure yet about San Francisco but St. Louis in 2011 for sure (if nothing don't happen.)

Bon jour, Miss Yves! It really was a lovely building -- I wish I'd had time to do it justice.

Glad you're home. We missed you. It's rained so much here the leaves aren't going to fall off, they're going to rot off. I almost didn't recognize the sun when it finally came out.
Gorgeous photo of the mountains.

Isn't there an old saying, "north, south, east, west, where ever you roam, home is best" or something like that? I don't think I've quoted it correctly, but I certainly agree with the core sentiment.

The view from your window, Vicki, is definitely the best!

Hey, Sam -- I have hopes for some color -- the burning bush, at least, is aflame.

Oh, Victoria -- the view this morning had me out of a warm bed and standing at an open window, shivering in my nightshirt to get a shot of the pre-dawn sky with the morning star hanging high above.
