Visiting a Friend

Today I'm visiting a friend -- at Kaye Barley's blog "Meandering and Muses." Come with me!

I'm talking about being a 'transplant' to Appalachia and I'd love it if some of you popped over and commented -- today or whenever!

Hey, Vicki,
I enjoyed the post at Kaye's !
You know I once was a " furner"
in the little community I moved to in Tennessee. I didn't know it at the time, I was young and dumb you know. My son still lives there and someone told me not long ago,
"if we could elect a mayor in Yellow Creek",it would be Marty.
So I guess he's made it so to speak!
I am always asked when I go back to visit, if I ever plan to come back for good? Yes, when it's time to plant me, I say.I think you have earned respect where you are and most probably don't still see you as a "furner".

Hey, Carol, Sounds like your son's definitely made it!

Thanks for stopping by Kaye's blog!

Great piece on Kaye's blog. If I weren't already a devoted reader of your books, I would sure be hunting them down after reading that. Your take on being originally from 'outside' is always interesting, and I love the respect and love you have shown for the community you moved into. It makes all the difference. Tammy (p.s. love the pictures for today!)

That's Eddie in the pictures -- in full winter plumage!
