So Happy To be Surrounded by Trees

As they return to waking life in the spring, decking themselves in every shade of green and gold and even red, they resume their mission of breathing for the planet.

Here in the mountains, we are surrounded by these guardians.

Dark branches, bright leaves embroidered on a blue sky.

All is well; all is well, they seem to say.

These sentinels do take good care of us! I love living where open windows bring fresh oxygen right into my house. The air conditioner may be needed in July or August, but I love that breeze which is chilly still.

I wish more people appreciated trees. I'm appalled by the loss of trees in our area, as construction of every kind consumes the land.

You do have beautiful trees surrounding you. After living decades in Georgia with trees all around I found the bungalow in Nashville with a small yard and just grass (or weeds) quite bare. I had 16 trees planted in the back and 6 in the front yard. They are growing nicely. Everyone should find a spot to plant at least a tree.

Me too. Tress offer seclusion, comfort, and serenity. Thank you for reminding me. Cathy

I'm happy to have mature trees around my place too - though not as many as you!
