Four years ago, John brought a celebratory meal he'd cooked to the nursing home where I was recovering from multiple injuries. We were neither of us feeling particularly cheerful after Clinton's defeat in the Electoral College, but it was our 53rd wedding anniversary and we were celebrating, dammit!
This year we'll celebrate whole-heartedly. I have Josie today so the Eggs Benedict and champagne breakfast is out, but we'll raise a glass this evening--to ourselves, to our family, to the coming administration, and to all the folks who voted for them. Keep on keeping on!
There's much to celebrate! Congratulations on 57 years, and wishing you many happy years ahead. Ellis
I can't believe it was 4 years ago...and just look at you now! So glad you both have been married this long, and that you've recovered from your accident. And of course you now can sit for Josie and take more photos of her darling antics. Congrats to you al!
Yay, congrats! That is a very long time. Why can't Josie have Eggs Benedict? I get the champagne part :)
Congratulations Vicki and John! I can't believe it was four years ago already since your accident. How time flies these days! Yes, yes, yes, congratulations to Joe Biden - peace at last, I hope. Your country is so divided though, it's almost unbelievable how people who live in the same land, big as it is, can be so at odds with each other. I blame social media for a lot of it because each side only hears and sees posts that apply to their view of the world. It is the same over here in England, with Brexit. We were almost 50/50 on the Brexit issue, which is still going on. Here we are hoping for a great trade deal with America, but we won't accept your chlorinated chickens because our animal health rules are so strict. That will be a point of contention I'm sure.
Congratulations on 57 years!
Congratulations! I hadn't realized that your accident was so long ago already. My goodness.
A lot has happened in those four years! Congratulations, have a wonderful day.
And what a beautiful day you had for your anniversary! Blue skies!

Happiest of Anniversary wishes to you and John! My goodness, how the years go by! Life has treated you two well, and we're heading for even better times ahead. Today's for loving, laughing and remembering all the good times you've shared. My best wishes to you both!
I remember apost from that time about the passing of your roommate, Barbara. She had been a friend of mine, though we'd lost contact. So it was through your blog that I learned of her passing and I loved your remembrance of her. Captured Barbara perfectly 🧡
Oh my! Sally, what a coincidence! Thank you for the kind words!
