It looks so pretty, but you can keep it. I'd hate to have to be driving to the hospital in that stuff. People around here don't know the first thing about driving in that kind of weather.
Thank you for the (snowy) thumbs up for Michael! Brrrr!
We ended up with unexpected overnight company due to this snow. Our driveway is part gravel (fine in snow) and part blacktop (not so good). Even in a 4WD vehicle, one car didn't make it to the top and he had to back partway down and hike up. Today, before we can get out, it will be out with the brooms and shovels. 12 degrees here on the Cosby plateau, as we call it. All the roads into the GSMNP are closed and even hwy 321 was in terrible shape. It sure is purty tho.
I'm so excited for the first snow of 2014! We ended up with about an inch total or so, not enough for sledding but it sure is pretty. I love how your photos captured the snow flakes like little orbs.

Slightly spooky - and beautiful - and strangely makes me really miss the shots of your habitat in summer!

Beautiful! Love the photos!
Lovely: seems a fairy tale!
Some here too, when I awoke to 12 degrees. It would have been nice to see it coming down, so I love the pics you shared.
We've got what looks like 6 or so inches out there, blowing around ferociously. It's 14 degrees F and the birds are swarming the suet feeders.

Wait a minute. I don't see any barefoot prints in the snow. Isn't this the first snow of the year?
A dusting here too, but I did not get such elegant photos. Thank you.
Neat photos of your snowscape -- barbara
I was thrilled at how the falling snow photographed. There was a spot light and I had my flash on -- that's it.
Brian -- those are Willa's pawprints -- she didn't tarry out there.
I see some of you have it REALLY cold!
NCMountainwoman -- you'll see proof tomorrow (I had't thought about its being the first snow of the year... and it was(is) really cold....
