Some strategies for staying cool -- POM pomegranate juice with soda (lots of soda) over ice . . .
Salad for lunch with last night's cold eggplant/shrimp/red pepper pasta tossed in . . .
Bathe two large, reluctant dogs. Don't change wet clothes when done. Sit in front of fan. Ah . . . .
Good morning Vicki! Thanks for your visit. Those lilies of yours are almost the same as those in the French garden. Beautiful photos! Thanks for your comment in your previous post.
All good suggestions, but the leftover pasta tossed into the salad sounds very interesting. YUM!
Soda & POM over ice? I will give this try. I drink POM cold out of the bottle. The pictures are great!
We have a 40% chance of rain today!! PRAY !! As the old you to say; we are drying slam up !
Reader Wil, I'll be posting tomorrow about the Cherokee, in answer to your question yesterday.
I highly recomend it, Pat -- I've been experimenting more and more with adding leftovers to salads. This was excellent!
Carol-- hoping you get some rain! You have been canning up a storm. How you manage to do anything but watch those cute puppies, I don't know!
Please come up to holler notes and express an opinion about Don West. I just reviewed his biography and the experience left me a bit stunned and definitely committed to promoting this guy who died in 1992.
Vicki, why are you tormenting us? All I can manage in this heat is ice water with some sliced lime. Leftover cole slaw and barbecue. As for two large reluctant dogs being bathed, I ain't even gonna try that. I did brush Big Bro though, and he seemed to like it. There's a lot of Bro Snow all around the yard now.
Gary -- that's an interesting sounding book about an era in Appalachia that I know very little about -- I will make an attempt to change that.
Kay -- well, you could skip bathing the dogs and just play in the sprinkler -- did you do that as a child? Heavenly, it was!
Actually, today was quite pleasant and tonight is COOL! What the mountains are supposed to be like, as I recall.
Catching up after several blogless days on the road. Vicki, I was sorry to read about the loss of Bear. It is part of the circle of life, but so sad anyway.
We're on a road trip to the midwest. Left Ga. in 99 degree heat on Saturday and awoke this morning in St. Cloud Minnesota to a wonerful 65 degree sunny day. I could get used to this...at least until October or so when Georgia would start to look pretty good again. "Stay cool.."
Lynne from GA. (in MN)
Hey, Lynne, The heat has moderated and it's actually quite pleasant.
Safe travels to you!
