As the eighth ninth tenth wherever-it-stands-now vote fails to bring Trump's 'my Kevin' any closer to the Speakership, I admit to being caught up in this historic moment.
While I enjoy seeing Kevin smacked down and the GOP in disarray, I'd much prefer to see some bi-partisan governing going on--stuff that will benefit the American people.
Meanwhile, I wonder why all those new members (like say, Santos, who haven't been sworn in) can even vote.
Alas, it is our circus and, for better or worse, those are our monkeys.

Love the second to last shot...as well as the last one. A home from a house, yours...rather than a house without a leader.
Everybody in the House right now, no matter how many previous terms they've served, is a member-elect. They are choosing the leaders of their parties, and the person who gets the most votes will be speaker and will swear in the entire House. They can only do this one thing at the moment and cannot conduct any government business, receive intelligence briefings, etc. It's a confusing system, but that's the way it is.
Gorgeous photos, and the second to last is breathtaking.
It's a mess. I'd like to see the Democrats join with moderate Republicans to vote in a moderate. Wouldn't that be something?
Marcia, that won't happen, because it would require republican to make major concessions to Democrats. Besides, Democrats don't like McCarthy any more than the rebel republicans do.
