As the buds began to swell, I began to suspect that Lady Amaryllis was not the usual red . . .
Surely that's a deep blush . . .
Shyly, she drew aside a single petal . . .
And as the day wore on and Kevin McCarthy still couldn't get the votes he needed to be Speaker of the House, she opened to a gorgeous deep pink.
Not sure which I enjoyed more.

Both are enjoyable.
Oh we are a fun bunch of flower loving non-Republicans! I feel sorry for the ones (less the 150 election deniers, and less the one that lied his way into office, if indeed there's only one!) who sincerely wanted to do something for their country and district. Not much, nah.
My amaryllis usually open at nigh, so the flowers are there in the morning. The republicans make fools of themselves around the clock.
It's perfect!
