A new nephew meant it was time to put together a baby quilt. Twelve little squares embroidered with simple chain stitch images -- dog, cat, tree, house, car, boat, bird, fish, sun, moon, airplane.
It was such a fun little project and the best was sending it off and getting in return a picture of the new guy, waving at me.

So glad to see you're keeping the quilting craft alive and extending it to more generations. A fabric artist asked me about any quilting shows, and I didn't know the answer...but there's a quilt shop in town, so I'll drop by and ask them...just in case I get a chance to see one.
Barb, the Asheville Quilt Guild has a wonderful show in September at the Ag Center..

What a wonderful heirloom. Our granddaughter is the recipient of many lovely quilts made by a ninety-four year old neighbor. Her own children and grandchildren do not care for quilts so dear Violet is the lucky one. With the quilts and the blankets I have knitted for her, she will not be cold. When she gets angry with her parents, she seeks solace from the quilts and blankets.
What an absolutely delightful gift.
Fabulous! I'm sure it will be cherished for many years. Hope you are well.

Mary Lib! Now there's a blast from the past. In my mind you're still a beautiful teenager. All best to you!
