As promised yesterday, here are some closeups of the group quilt presented at the shower. It's been in the works since December -- with me hobbling through the fabric store as soon as I was able to walk again and sending out squares of fabric (and threatening messages "For the love of god, don't say you'll participate if you can't get your square in on time...") to friends and family who'd indicated a desire to produce a flower square for the quilt.
Friends and family performed magnificently, executing their chosen flowers in various mediums (counted cross stitch, acrylic, embroidery, and/or applique.) And, for the most part, squares were returned in a timely manner before I had to get really fierce. (In organizing a group quilt, somebody has to be the bitch -- and I can do it.)

My goodness! These are gorgeous samples. Josie will have a quilt to cherish for a lifetime. Thanks for sharing these!
You have some talented friends, who will be remembered as Josie grows and loves her beautiful quilt. I'm thinking of how this quilt will be handled in 5 years and 10 years, then 20 etc.!
I LOVE your dragon/snapdragon! My other favs are the iris, bridge across the stream, and the lamb! The whole quilt is a work of art! Awesome work!!

I can only say WOW!
Some beautiful work there. What a thing to cherish.
Oh the lamb- oh all of it!
I love each one of the squares: so original.
What talent . The flowers are remarkable.
A treasure indeed. Josie will show this to her own grandchildren. And tell the the stories of her most wonderfully calm grandmother who could become the bitch when necessary to get it done.
