SMILE! Loved it!

I've never made stuffed squash blossoms -- perhaps I should try it.

These are potimarron winter squash (seeds courtesy Elora from JUST OFF THE ONE LANE ROAD) and yes, they are thankful for the rain we've had.

Oh, Martin, I wish I had a snappy comeBach.

Jill said...

Beautiful! I have always wanted to try stuffing squash blossoms too. I have also heard of folks frying them.

Rosemary Harris said...

They are yummy...but of course it's just an excuse to fry something...

Vicki Lane said...

Exactly, Rosemary. I've made fried daylily blooms -- a mild onion flavor and lots of fried batter --yumm.

oh that was great!
I once saw that with my jack-in-the-pulpits..heard them sing

This brought such a big smile to my face ... thank you! Gorgeous photos with the contrast tween yellow and green...so vibrant...

Love the Hallelujah chorus!

Martin said...

Keep trying, Vicki. Moz-artists of your calibre can think of something snappy!

Vicki Lane said...

Well, Martin, I'll have to get Bizet and make a Liszt...

I'd complain about all those puns -- if you weren't already Haydn in that garden somewhere. --Mario R.

p.s. -- lovely photos, but that goes without saying.

Vicki Lane said...

Mario! You spotted me. Yes, I'm Hayden and watching for the groundhog who's Borodin across the road. That varmint needs to be in a Cage...

Yeah! Sweet music in the garden!

I looked at all your past posts- I like your talking animals – your cat is very philosophical. By the way when I was researching something or other I came upon the term “American Exceptionalism.” Do you know who said it first? It was Stalin of the USSR in 1929 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_exceptionalism) so it makes me laugh when all the Conservatives use the term. Another thing I found out, on an American expat blog, a lawyer, is how difficult it is to leave America as in “love it or leave it.” It is quite expensive. Let me find the blog - he said that the IRS don’t let you go free, you have to file all kinds of papers – so if people say “if you don’t like it here, go somewhere else” that is silly. Plus why should anyone leave because they have a different opinion? That is what has made this country great – all the different people coming here. I think I found this guy’s blog – it’s called An American Expat. I don’t follow it or even comment on it- go down that page and it explains about the IRS requirements when you leave the USA - http://kvsmith.com/?p=1031 Now that I looked at his blog I remember it was a post I read while writing my post about French bashing – his is called “Friendly Parisians ……” surprise! http://kvsmith.com/?p=89 .

Don't become so preoccupied, that you forget to water your Delius.

Vicki Lane said...

I'll be Franck -- I don't much like Delius because they require staking and so have never grown them.
