William and Miss Susie Hutchins

William is cautious around cats; he thinks it might be a good idea to leave.

Miss Susie Hutchins agrees.

But then she says something that questions his manliness and he resolves to stick it out. After all, he was there first. And surely his people won't let this cat hurt him.

Surely. . .

"Well, oh yeah?" he says, challenging her feline superiority. It's the snappiest comeback he can think of. He regrets it at once and looks away, pretending he didn't say anything at all.

Miss Susie Hutchins is not amused. And for the five hundred millionth time, she thanks the cat goddess Bast that she was not born a dog.

So funny! You pegged it just right too....I can just see the steel in William's spine...for at least a second or two. And Miss Susie Hutchins' expressions seems to read that she cannot believe what he said! (and wait til I get you alone little doggie...)

That William has the sweetest face. And he is so cautious with his little ears back! Aww. The name William suits him so well.

My husband and I spend a lot of time anthropomorphizing our animals' behavior.

I wonder if they do the same to us. "Look! She's hiding her food in the big white box so she can come back for it later. That reminds me; where did I bury that bone?"

We originally named William 'Spike,' but it just didn't take. His alter ego in my books is named James.

Lovely !

I'll have to get some pics of William and Eddie together -- though it'll be a challenge as William's very wary of a cat considerably bigger than himself.

I love the way Miss Susie Hutchins' feet never move out of position for a moment. She never loses her poise.

Poise is her middle name!
