But then I couldn't resist coming up for air to see what the morning looked like. All I had to do was lift my head and open my eyes.
And what a reward! A sky full of pink cloud sheep -- moutons, as Miss Yves tells me the French call the clouds when they flock together like that.
I don't know how many sunrise pictures I've taken over the years. A lot.
Here's a slide show of sunrises from January to January. I love watching the sun's movement from south to north and back again.

I believe this is better then recording ones dreams,,, the sun has been doing this dance with the earth for millions of years and each and every day is dazzling different.
Glad you like to peep and photo.

To wake to these scenes each morning, Vicki. Well, sometimes it must render you speechless.
WV has provided a far less charming alternative, with thedump!
Great idea for a post. outstanding pictures and I can associate with the phrase "coming up for air" ha ha
Stunning photos and video! We call those clouds "schaapjes wolken"meaning "little sheep clouds". So in many languages we have the same expression!
There's no point in trying to pick a favorite in those 44 pictures; they're all beautiful.
Wonderful!!! Your pictures are serene and beautiful! Wishing you well! Cathy
What great pictures. Love the different scenes in the sky.
As soon as I saw the photo on your blog header this morning, I said "OH OH OH!! I know when that was!!!" I wanted in the most desperate way to grab my camera and head outside yesterday morning, but couldn't. I was heading out for a trip to Greensboro and didn't have time. So I did what I sometimes do in those situations, I took a photo of it with my mind, to keep it there. Beautiful sunrise photos! And I've never heard this type of clouds called "sheep clouds" before, and am particularly intrigued that the entire world calls them that! May I ask - what kind of camera do you have?
wow...beautiful skies...i love watching the sun rise off our back deck...
Gorgeous!
I love your photos, Vicki. Like Joan I'm noticing the skies much more than I did when I was younger. Nothing moves me quite as much as a gorgeous sunrise or sunset.
Fabulous. What a delight to see how She changes through the year...great collection!
I love your blog header! The rich colors and rippling clouds are perfect and make me feel like I'm really up there on that hill.

What a wonderful series of photos Vicki. That's one scene I would never tire of because it changes daily.
I had left my camera home (again) and on the way to work the trees down in the river valley were all frosted and beautiful. And for some reason this made me think of you and your lovely sunrise pictures! It's curious but there is actually a breed of sheep called 'mouflons'. :-)
Tammy
Simply beautiful.
I'd probably sleep with my camera next to the pillow. So pretty!
Dear Vicki: The orange fish in the sky was amazing! And the two lovers! I love these sunrises everyday a new adventure! Lots of great atmosphere you mean your dreams can match the view? ps the colours are magnificient especially that cobalt blue sky. Have you entered photog contests before? Your photographs are very professional looking!
Thanks, folks -- Hard to miss with a subject like the eastern sky at dawn.
