There's also THE DAY OF SMALL THINGS (a spinoff/standalone)chronicling the unexpected life story of Miss Birdie, one of Elizabeth's neighbors. I came to this weird business late (my first novel was published in 2005) and am still trying to figure it out. As my novels are set in a place much like my real life home, I thought I'd use this blog to share pictures of our farm and county. I've been blogging for over five years now, on an almost daily basis, and the topics have ranged from writing, chickens, food, books, quilts, flora and fauna of all sorts, to the occasional tiny rant. I had to smile at the title of your post. I'm a big Donovan fan and it got me thinking, not too long before we can sing his Summer Day Reflection Song.
We were happy to see 'snippets' of sunshine peek through. It was a long time coming!

Glad to see a wee bit of sunshine here yesterday too, but it's supposed to begin to snow again this weekend. These are beautiful pictures. I especially like the one of icicles! Have a grand day! Cathy

If the sun didn't come out when it did I was going to buy grow lights and surround myself with artificial sunlight...haha.
I know melting is your favorite word of the day! Believe it or not, today is our first day to get in the 40s too even though we got no snow! It's 18 right now. Brrrrrr! XOXO

Hallelujah! The sun is out here too!! I even got sky-blue-pink photos at sunrise.
And as I walked home down the driveway a doe gave me the evil eye, stamped, and fled. Clearly I was in the wrong for being OUT when she was.

It was four degrees when we got up this morning. The sun has never been more welcome here than it is today!
Yes, but looking at your photos, winter is truly beautiful. Just look at those trees!
and the days are definitely getting longer! By about 5 minutes per day.
I wish it would speed itself up a little : )
