Merisi -- the book was open to a page called 'confusing fall warblers' -- there are three more pages of these little yellow-green birds of which thee are many (easily confused) varieties. I love the goldfinches too -- the males so bright and tropical in their yellow and black plumage. We have many around here and I enjoy their swooping flight.
LOL! That is too funny. I had a feeling when Eddie started rolling over that I knew what was coming. That happens to our cats quite a bit more than they would like. I can't help but laugh (once I'm certain they're ok) because they always manage to look like "What? I meant to do that. No, really..." I'm going to post a picture of my Shadow Bumpnbiter tomorrow; I think he and Eddie are long lost twins!

May I guess that the first image shows the American Goldfinch? One of those birds that I truly miss aroaund here.
That Eddie is an elegant fellow! :)

Carol -- and how Eddie agrees!

Eddie always says, after one of these quick dismounts, 'That felt good!" a la Peter Sellers when he fell down the stairs in a Pink Panther movies.
Nothing is so funny as when a cat has an oops moment! Love it! Great post.

Christie -- Eddie said to tell you that he's not cute; he's majestic, thank you very much.
