What is it? Maple, oak, hickory?
It sure does stand out...above the others for some reason. I've noticed few trees make the effort to be much taller than those around them, maybe it is more risky in storms. But then they get more sunshine too!
Marcia, I'm not sure. It's too far away to be sure.
A closer look reveals that it's a very big poplar.
It's lovely.
A tulip poplar? No wonder it is so shimmery. We had lots of those towering over us at the Lodge when we lived in MD.
