I've gone on quite a binge of Mary Stewart! All those books for so little - it's very hard for me to resist buying a book when it's under $2. And reading her books is like a mini-vacation - set in the late 50's to the 70's or so, today's politics, which fill me with outrage every day, just fade away for a while.
Well I had no idea where that title came from "Stormy Petrel". My alma mater Oglethorpe University sports teams were called The Stormy Petrels. Surely she did not get it from there?

I just finished The Gabriel Hounds -- they are all enjoyable and her description is breathtaking.
I'll have to try her again...it's been a while.
A good idea when my pile of books decreases...
