Grandmothers Up!

Today Claui goes (reluctantly) back to her work as a home care nurse and her mother Nancy and I take on new careers as baby minders. We are going to begin by splitting the days between us -- I'll mostly do mornings since I'm nearby and she'll do afternoons.

I've been instructed in the bottle warmer, the car seat, the white noise machine, the baby monitor, the swaddling technique . . .  et cetera, et cetera.  And I'm really looking forward to this as Josie is developing and interacting (flirting) more and more every day.

Plus, it's good for elderly members of the tribe to prove their worth so that they won't get abandoned on an ice floe when food grows scarce.

She'll change EVERY day, so how terrific that you and the other GrandMama will have the consistent joy!

How lucky Justin and Claui are to have you both so close! Having my parents and in-laws so far away was hard.

This is so wonderful, the family opportunity which so many of us miss because of miles between us. Enjoy to the fullest!

All of you are so fortunate to be able to enhance the knowledge and care for Josie. I wish our new granddaughter lived closer. I'm so happy for you but a little envious.

Enjoy! She's a beauty! But I have to admit that I'm sad for Claui to have to return to work. :(

She's more adorable in every batch of photos. Such a happy girl! Love will do that to a baby. :-)

A warning! It's very hard work Vicki and nothing like looking after your own children. I wish you much happiness with the little one.

I meant to have grandmothers nearby and able! I,too, wish Claui could be there.
