You have leaves changing colors already?

Our garden is winding down. Daylilies are almost done, same with phlox or will be soon enough. Just last evening, I was doing some watering and noticing how it is getting darker earlier. Still plenty of summer left, and we are in another heat advisory with a temp of 93 feels like 106 tomorrow.

Faded blossoms are one of the most beautiful things nature does. I can be all agog with what a camellia or hydrangea blossom looks like in full bloom, but then when I see it transform into a lacy, dusty chrysalis of it's showy self, I'm too enchanted (or lazy!) to snip it off!

I am also a fan of nature's plant transformations. There is much beauty to be found.

Thanks for these photographs, Vicki. xo

Those bright dogwood leaves are an anomaly -- but here and there various trees are looking very summer's endish. The weather has moderated and we've had some rain -- but I enjoy thinks of autumn,
