There will be? I think there is...

Primroses, divine. Mine are blooming outside. They did fine through the bitter cold, although the foliage is a bit ragged looking. They seem quite winter hardy. If yours are in pots, plant them outside on a border and see if they are happy there. They make babies and can easily be divided.

Slowly but surely, it's coming. Tiny green spears are poking up where there will be crocuses blooming soon.

In the interest of complete transparency, I must admit that the primroses (pots from the grocery) and the cyclamen (a gift, also in a pot)are sitting on our dining table beneath the orchids. The kittehs love it, think it's a jungle.

I buy some primroses for the house every year and plant them outside when they begin to fade -- as Mary Anne says, they are quite hardy. A few of my outdoor ones are near bloom now.

Thanks for the burst of colors this morning, I just leaned into the screen, felt almost "bee-like" wanting to immerse myself in such vibrancy!

Your pretty pictures give me hope, but I have my doubts...

I love the last photo. Just suits my eye. All are beautiful. Cloudy and cool this morning but hopefully sunshine and 70degrees this pm

I thought last week was heralding spring. But this week's chilly foggy rainy weather has taken that hope for a while.

Vicki, your primroses and cyclamen are splendid...indoors or out, those colors feed the spirit.

I brought home another little pot of daffodils yesterday. Still so cold here, although those amusing weather reporters still say warmer days are arriving soon.

I love them too Vicki. The primulas in my garden are quite colourful now. They are so encouraging aren't they. Your pictures are glorious.

So pretty! I haven't had a primrose in a long time, and I should remedy that. They're such cheery little harbingers of spring, and I've had luck planting them outside also. I have half a mind to go to the store this weekend and pick up a couple. "I have half a mind," now there's a good snippet for my little observation book. It's funny when you observe your own self...

I love this and I know it must bring hope to those of you still suffering in the cold.
