Rain and More Rain..and Another Milestone

Two inches and counting . . .

Hard to find an interesting picture anywhere . . .

The dreary eastern view stays the same from first to last light . . .

I'm not complaining, mind you. The rain is soaking in and building up the water table; all the trees are drinking deep; and the sound on the metal roof is wonderful. But it's challenging for photography.

Yesterday I drove the car to the grocery store -- my first time driving since the knee surgery, and, counting two doctor's appointment, only my third time out since coming home. John rode with me, just to make sure I didn't have any problems.

Going into the grocery store was momentarily overwhelming -- flowers! Fruits and vegetables! It reminded me of how my older son, at the age of two, absolutely adored the cereal aisle -- all those cartoon characters and bright colors in a row, like a carnival might break out at any moment.

And today (oh, the excitement!) I will solo -- driving alone to the Marshall library for a meeting of the board of trustees. There's glory for you!

I know what you mean about the rain being a challenge for photos. Have mercy do I know!

Congratulations on being back to driving. You're woman on the move and nobody better get in the way!

How wonderful, you are back behind the wheel, congratulations on another milestone! What's next? Trekking in Nepal? ;-)

No matter the dreary weather, you managed to capture some interesting images. Way more light than here.

Wishing you safe rides and a meeting filled with good news,
Merisi

Still raining this morning -- we're past three inches now. A sunny weekend is in the forecast.

Excellent news, Vicki. Your team out here in blogland has been waiting to hear each of your milestones! Yep, grey wet days are sure here.

I'm glad you are getting out and about. Maybe the sun will shine soon and goad Mother Nature into a prettier view.

I love the rain and enjoy your rainy pictures. So glad you can solo and hope every day you're feeling better than the day before. Been a long road but it sounds like the end is in sight.

The weather has been overcast here for a few days -- even ice this morning. Nice that you are getting out and about -- barbara

Seems unusual that you should have such a grey view from your homestead, but each season has its uses. Glad you're making such splendid progress.

Yay! Congrats on the grocery store outing and your continued progress. :-)

Love the first picture of the pool. Nice to read about your rainfall while I feel the chill of a wintry arid zone.

Ain't no stopping you now, Vicki!

This weird January jet stream is bringing such odd weather. After a warm and foggy weekend, and a transitional Tuesday, we might have snow by tomorrow morning.

It's grand to learn about your continuing recovery.
