I have NEVER been able to capture a decent spider web! I'm envious of your shots!

So delicate and beautiful!!! Have a grand weekend!

Ms. A -- these had dew on them which helps a lot in the capture. You can also take a spray bottle and spritz the web very lightly to help it show up.

Vicki, Wonderful photos of spider webs. In the spring here in Southern California the orb spiders hatch and begin to make little circular webs. They are beautiful. They have grace and athletic ability.

I remember back south the giant writing spiders that predicted either war or peace by writing a "W" or a "P" in their web. Are those still around?

Simply gorgeous capture of spider's work...aren't they also amazing!

Jim, I know the spiders you mean - tough I haven't noticed any this year. We call them garden spiders. I never heard the W or P thing -- I'll have to pay attention to the next one I see -- though I suspect the gene for writing P has disappeared from long lack of use.
