The Joy of Rain on a Hot Day

The air so thick that
Every breath is a struggle
And then the clouds burst

And glorious rain
Bespatters the goldfish pool,
Lures a sunflower

To lean out and bathe,
Refreshing its dusty face
In the cooling shower.

A wonderful cooling day here too. Sunflowers are happy.

Best I can recall, those Carolina raindrops are pretty cool.

We've had relief from torrential rains here but we had a "shower" the other day and, indeed, it was refreshing! Have a grand day!

I enjoyed your very appropriate haikus. Rain has been scarce here so we really appreciate it when it happens.

That looks like just the answer to the swelter. Your Sunflower really appreciates it. Love your picture of the quartz rock and pine. Thanks, and I am grateful

Vicki, you have given us some very beautiful words and photographs. I particularly like the second photograph. It's quite poetic.
