The weeping willow is a veil of chartreuse-green.
I spend a little time on the porch, rubbing those spindly white sprouts off before returning the potatoes to the darkness. They'll keep longer de-sprouted (which is why most commercial potatoes are treated with something to prevent sprouting.)
Just another sign of Spring. . .

The sun is shining now but it's still cold. Your patatoes remind me of the ones we had from our garden when I was young. My father grew them in our kitchengarden. He was a sailor so when he was sailing the blue wide oceans he wrote to us if we would dig up the patatoes. There were a lot of them and we had to do our homework for school as well.So you understand that we were not happy at all about it.We had to take them to the loft and put them in a dark wooden box like yours.
Spring is now so close, you can almost taste it.
Soon that winter fringe on the hills in your header picture will fill in with green. The waterfalls and creeks will be hidden away.
When I lived in NC, my view was very similar to yours...that's why I love to feast on your pictures.
It just feels so good after the winter we had!

Have I mentioned lately that I want your camera? I WANT YOU CAMERA. There, now that I've gotten that out of my system - the photo of the bud is breathtaking. My sedum are peeking through too. And I just read in the paper that the forecast for the next month or two is continued warm weather, and better still - more rain. Yipppeee!

Thanks for sharing these wonderful signs of Spring, Vicki. My purple and yellow finches have returned! Although their full colors have not appeared yet. Also the Sandhill Cranes are back - a sure sign of Spring - even though we get 18% of our 6-inch snowfalls after this date!~~

Lovely signs of Spring Vicki. I enjoyed looking at those. It makes me think about my garden back in England. I'm now wondering if the lilac is as far on as yours is.

I just posted a very similar photo of my lilac. This warmer weather has brought it out a little too early here. Spring is in the air!

Oh, the glorious willow! Your spring has sprung much more than ours. I have a lot of sedum, too. No buds yet, though.
WE pulled out the dead 'weeds' in the front woods. The better to see our daffodils, when they gin up the courage to appear. Snow vaguely predicted for this weekend. Sigh. I'll have to go back to your blog over and over to find the hope and beauty of spring. For now.
