I've just done what I aim never to do - read everyone else's comments, first! Now, my own natural impulse to have simply said BEAUTIFUL! to these exquisite pictures, is going to need to be tweaked, as it seems most before me uttered the same! Had I NOT read their comments first, I'd have been none the wiser and my comment would have been, simply, BEAUTIFUL! Now I need to scratch my brain cell to come up with something a tad more 'original?'
DRAT! Note to self: stick to your rules...don't read other people's comments first!
So, Vicki...what do I say? You know you're a gifted photographer, you know these images are really special...could I then query the white bloom and risk breaking the 'wordless' code for Sunday? Is it a magnolia? Truly, truly lovely, so perfectly formed and...pure white...always a favourite with me.
Just catching up - I skimmed over the snakes! Glad we only have one dangerous one over here. These flowers are lovely - I like the cute little bug on the white one too.
What lovely photos of flowers--I see your photography skills are equal to your writing skills. I am relatively new to blogging and happened (luckily) to come across your blog. I know I will be back often to read and view your new posts. Come by my blog sometime. Mickie Brown

I'm the author of The Elizabeth Goodweather Appalachian Mysteries from Bantam Dell. The series includes SIGNS IN THE BLOOD (LA MONTAGNE DES SECRETS in France), ART'S BLOOD, (LE SECRET DES APPALACHES in France,) OLD WOUNDS,IN A DARK SEASON (Anthony Nominee, Best PBO), and UNDER THE SKIN. There's also THE DAY OF SMALL THINGS (a spinoff/standalone)chronicling the unexpected life story of Miss Birdie, one of Elizabeth's neighbors.
I came to this weird business late (my first novel was published in 2005) and am still trying to figure it out.
As my novels are set in a place much like my real life home, I thought I'd use this blog to share pictures of our farm and county. I've been blogging for over four years now, on an almost daily basis, and the topics have ranged from writing, chickens, food, books, quilts, flora and fauna of all sorts, to the occasional tiny rant. There's no plan, but there are lots of pictures.
There's more information about me and my books on my web site: http://vickilanemysteries.com/

WOW! Beautiful pictures, Vicki.
Oh so beautiful Vicki. Spring has truly sprung in your place.
Silent Sunday, indeed, Vicki. These gorgeous photographs speak for themselves.
Martin H 'speech is golden speech!
ah...beautiful spring...
Just beautiful!
Wonderful photos Vicki, I love them all. These truly need no words.
Silent Sunday, sure. Eloquent. Definitely.
Glory to the Flowers!
(What are those last flowers, Vicki?)
The flowers are black pussy willow, star magnolia, daffodils, and crocuses.
Just beautiful. And full of hope.

I know what you mean, Desiree -- sometimes I ave an apt comment or clever quote and post it in the comments only to find it's already been said.
The single bloom is a star magnolia -- magnolia stellata. It's a very early bloomer.
Vicki -- Absolutely gorgeous!
lovely pictures, lovely flowers.
Soon Spring will be with us for sure.
I'm speechless!!! Beautiful! Cathy
Oh, oh, oh, oh! Your post made me gasp. So beautiful, thank you for this piece of Spring!
I have no idea what the top one was, but it's so pretty, and the shiny little visitor on the big white flower was so dear!
Bet you didn't take those today - ha! Mother Nature is a trickster in March.

So Pretty! I still dont' have much blooming-except the Linten roses. Living on the north side makes it slower-but it's kinda nice too.
