Exit the White Witch

Blue sky at last!
The icicles have dropped and shattered and the snow on the roof is slipping groundward . . .

in an frozen lacy veil that slowly

drips into nothingness.

Vicki

We have heavy rain forecast for the weekend. The thaw is already evident and the rain should see off the white stuff, which is actually looking a little grubby now. Wind and rain; now that's something we're used to in the UK.

What pretty pictures Vicki, and weren't the blue skies amazing.

Yep, it's thawing here too, thank goodness, and it was like a war zone around the house as the icicles fell.

The pictures look as if I'd tinted then but it was just that lovely Carolina blue sky . . . I was mainly thrilled by that perfect drop in the last picture -- "all the world in a drop of water" (can't remember exactly where that quote comes from or if I've even got it right. Possibly Wordsworth . . .)

I hope you enjoyed your day in town, Vicki! It's always so good to get out after being 'weather-stuck' as we say up here.

Beautiful photos!
