Spring Tease

Yesterday was a beautiful blue sky day with the temperature in the fifties! My goodness, it seemed like spring! Unfortunately, however, there is snow in the forecast for Friday night -- 6-10 inches of it. So it was off to the store to lay in supplies -- mainly food for the animals and a bit of fresh stuff for us.

How nice a day was it?
At the grocery I parked next to a convertible with the top down -- that's how nice.

I treated myself to some primroses. They'll brighten the dining room and when spring really gets here, I'll plant them outside.

On my way home, this lovely run of sunlight down the side of the Freewill Baptist Church caught my eye.

The same sun was much enjoyed by Kate and Marigold and friend.

I also treated myself to some spiffy new boots, just the thing for the Spring mud that will be coming. (Vicki Archer, eat your heart out!)

And there was an almost full moon, tangled in the bare branches of a poplar tree.

A lovely day.

Some days just fall together perfectly, don't they? I love that photograph of the "..lovely run of sunlight down the side of the Freewill Baptist Church.." Very nice.

Yesterday was a blessing and much enjoyed over here, especially with what today and tomorrow hold. They saying 8 to 14" here, so I'm guessing we'll wind up with around 10". When o when will winter end? I love the primroses ... you can't help but smile looking at them.

Your pictures are beautiful. North Carolina is beautiful. Here is the Chicago area, we have temperatures hovering a little above 0, with the wind chill below. We are expecting some snow today but not as much as you are. I don't have spring fever yet, but I am enjoying the beauty of the snow this year.

Vicki! LOVE the new boots! LOVE the primroses! Life you, I've been trying to keep some little pots of fresh flowers around the house to stave off those ol' winter time blues. Yesterday was a pretty day on this side of the NC mountains too, but yep - we'll be joining you in the snow tonight. Depending on who you want to listen to, we're expecting maybe 6 inches. Maybe 18 inches. Time will tell. Eighteen inches is better than 2 inches of ice. My trip to the market was for spaghetti sauce fixin's. If we're going to be snowed in, we're going to eat well.

No snow here yet but the sky is leaden and we are being bombarded with warnings. It was nice to have a little respite.

You've reminded me to go out and buy some spring flowers for the house.
During a shopping trip today we got caught in a blizzard (honestly) and within minutes the car was covered completely. By the time we were ready to start the homeward trip, everything had turned to slush.

Great photos Vicki and inspiring new hope that spring will come in the end. The days are getting longer, but we still have frost.

Thanks, Miss Yves! I'll check the link. Yes, lots of promises.

I adore having a few early spring flowers in the house, Friko. Balm for a winter-weary soul.

Yes, Wil, there's hope!

I meant to say I love your boots too ... I am in dire need of new boots, but now is a heck of a time to think about it!

Well, Pat, there I was in Tractor Supply, loading up on dog food and sunflower seed and across the crowded store, those blue boots called to me ... What could I do?

Looks like a wonderful beautiful spring teaser day! Has the snow/cold arrived there yet? It hit here yesterday in full force. I think we have about six inches, and the temps are suppose to drop to 5 above tonight. Brrr... All that free fertilizer though. ha...

Thank you, Maria Cecilia! But where could you go that would be better than your own beautiful garden?

The snow came, Tammy, only a few inches, thank goodness, but it's started up again. Keeping our fingers crossed it doesn't get too bad.
