Turkeys have upset the ecology because of their proliferation. Have you noticed the absence of meadowlarks and ruffed grouse? They lay their eggs on the ground and the turkeys have eaten all the eggs. We used to hear the thrumming of the grouse but no longer.

Have they always had such long legs? I guess I've never noticed.
Watching them fly is a hoot!
Strange birds indeed. Perhaps when they see a gathering of us humans, they think the same thing?
