A small, quiet Labor Day celebration here at the farm -- we had a hankering for fried chicken so, to keep the heat out of the kitchen, John set up the gas burner on the back porch.
I made potato salad with freshly dug potatoes. . .
And beans vinaigrette with fresh picked beans (those Purple Royalty beans just keep on bearing. . . )
And Justin brought up some corn from their garden. It was just the three of us as Claui was out of town at a wedding.

That food looks DELICIOUS! YUM!
Great way to celebrate Vicki. Home grown must be a real treat and I love how John set up the chicken outside.
Happy Labor Day.

Sounds like a perfect day to me, and isn't it nice to have so many things on the table that you raised. YUM!
yum. that potato salad looks awesome....sounds like a great meal...a quiet one here as well...just playing around the house...
Perfect Labor Day!
Looks like an awesome day at your place!
Is that a #11 cast iron skillet? That is my mission to find one now, I have 12, 10, and so on. But I'm lacking a #11.
Cast iron is the best, we cook in it all the time.
Have a great labor day!
Not fair...my mouth was watering for home fried chicken over breakfast...I bet it was delicious.
It sounds good. It's great that you can make a whole meal out of your own produce.
You’ve got willow pattern plates!
I’ve been collecting willow pattern for years.
I hope you had a lovely holiday.
You did have a perfect day with a wonderful dinner. And of course the rainbow topped it off. ~~ barbara
