Your title for this post says it perfectly! I wonder how long it took to make those...

The photos in your post yesterday of all the waterfalls and flowers took my breath away. Oh, you really do live in paradise!

Reminds me of the character, invented by Chris Judge. Take a look at The Lonely Beast and see if you agree.

This might be weird but it is not scary, It creates a feeling of being in a safe place, protected against all bad things. The artist must have had a hell of a job to create this.Wonderful Vicki!

I simply love Dougherty's work, he had an exhibit in the Phoenix Botanical Garden and his realisations were kind of similar though they were round and looking like huge nests with eyes on the desert landscape.

We've spent several months in Highlands on vacation over the years and my MIL had a summer home there for a long time, and go at least once a year now, but somehow (how?) we missed this place. They look scary. Kids must adore this place, especially at Halloween.

I immediately thought of The Greenwitch by Susan Cooper in her The Dark is Rising series. Have you read them?

I wonder how many people have stopped drinking after encountering this sculpture on their way home? They look a lot like "Death-eaters" to me. Jim

Very nice art...too bad the death-eaters comment is probably what kids will see too... I'd think of the ghosts of trees.

Check out the link Martin left -- they do, they do!

I didn't find them scary -- though my first thought was of THE WICKER MAN -- an old movie and THAT was scary. And Karen B is right -- they are a bit like the Greenwitch in THE DARK IS RISING series. (A wonderful series, much set, I believe, in Cornwall. Young adult stuff which I discovered as an adult.)

Am getting ready to follow Therese's link -- then off to Mr. Google to find out what Death eaters are. I've heard of Sin eaters...
