Stolen Callas

These beauties belong to a neighbor down the road...

I've never had much luck growing calla lilies but these,
aside from a bit of slug damage, are strong and beautiful.

Such elegant shapes...

I think I may have to try again.

Our daughter's new neighbours have these in their front garden, Vicki. Such a show.

Beautiful. Is that slug damage or slug appreciation?

Wow. I never even knew calla lilies came in anything other than white!
In the background, as I review your photos, I can hear Katharine Hepburn's voice: The calla lilies are in bloom again.

They are beautiful. Daughter gave me Calla Lillies for mother's day, so I guess I'm going to try again... we'll see how it goes. The thing about calla lillie, if my memory serves, is they aren't hardy enough for winter, so the bulb has to be dug up and stored in a cool place and then replanted in the spring. Bleh.

I like the way you displayed them. Very beautiful.

They really are lovely...remind me of blown glass forming a gorgeous vase instead of the flower to be put into one! Have a grand day! Cathy

Calla Lillies are my favorite flower. I have so wanted to try growing them, especially a near-black variety I recently saw at the store. But I know my luck. They would die and I would be so sad. :-(
