Delicious . . .

Wild black raspberries from beside the creek -- just a handful . . .

And in the garden, the lone artichoke plant has produced more buds! I left the first so I can see it bloom but I cut the smaller ones and we had them for dinner. Home grown artichoke is a first for us and I shall plant more next year.

My little harvest -- kale, collards, broccoli, and chard for a stir fry, the artichokes to boil and serve with browned butter, the romaine for a salad . . .  and the handful of raspberries into a bottle of apple cider vinegar.  In a month, the vinegar will take on the raspberry flavor and make the most delicious vinaigrette.

I used to love picking berries at my grandmother's! I don't think I've done it since I was a young girl.

Are you back online?

Obviously you are online, but you know what I mean!

Good, wholesome and home-grown. Very nice. I'm deliberately avoiding the naming of salad vegetables...just in case.

I don't even like artichokes, except the hearts, and this looks delicious!

I have never in my life eaten a FRESH artichoke, you lucky woman! Must be ambrosia... Husband likes them stuffed with Italian-seasoned bread stuffing and steamed. Pretty good, but if they were fresh, they'd definitely be best as plain as they could be eaten!

I'm online via the use of the borrowed hot spot . . .

Well done, Martin -- I have more weeding to do and don't want to get into another pun-fest. So lettuce leave it at that. (Oops, I've done it again...)

OK, help me out here. How can I tell the difference between black raspberries and blackberries? I have what I thought were blackberries growing in my front yard, but they seem a bit sweeter than the ones that I used to get in my back yard by the creek. Which is which? (Yeah, I'm not real smart about this kind of stuff.)

Susan -- blackberries are longer berries and much larger than raspberries. Some blackberries are sweeter than others but, to me, te taste is very different from raspberries.

The next time you're oin the grocery store, go look at the fresh berries -- maybe both will be in. Or, as always, Mr. Google is your friend.

Oh yummmmy! What delicious produce you are growing, cooking and ... eating. You've almost convinced me to like my childhood adversary kale.

Best wishes on a rapid return to complete internet service.
