Beautiful! Those are the first I've seen open so far. Mine are loaded with buds, and are a deep magenta color, so I'm anxious for their 'grand opening'!
I love peonies. I used to have them and my husband hated them. Despite the cages I put around them they always drooped right after a rain. He took that as a signal to whack them down! I can tell from your descriptions that you love those garden floozies just as much as I did.

Your peonies are the first I have seen this season -- barbara
I laughed out loud as I was reading your captions. Closest thing to steamy I've read in decades! It's brilliant, I love it!
Nice life story. It's a family business!
What a beautiful romantic story! I love peonies, but I noticed that they are not longer in my garden, which is a great "loss"!
We had a pale pink one in Hobart it was just beautiful, can't even grow the bush ones here so loved your images as they brought back memories!

ha...so cool you captured the progression...i tried to turn and look away but she was so beautiful
Lovely pictures and a lovely little story to go with it.
Where would we be without the gorgeous floozies?
Spring comes earlier to your neck of the woods. This is lovely.
Tree peonies bloom earlier than the more common herbaceous peonies. And the blooms don't last long, alas!
Love the time frame!
(and the photo of the dogs on the couch too!)
Just love the blooms and your running commentary! Great post!
Love the imagery.. and the images! You have peonies already! I've never heard of tree peonies. Learn something new every day...
I love this post, both the images and especially the words. Too funny! I can't get peonies to grow here, much to my regret.

Brilliant - you've captured their essence in word and image.
