At Random

Everywhere I turn, I see a picture -- opulent trusses of rhododendron ...

Jaunty male goldfinches in courting plumage . . .

A complacent little garter snake digesting a meal. . .
(See the bulge on the left in the picture above!)

Normally he would have slid away on seeing me but he was too full of field mouse to move.

And then there was this -- our quiet little road suddenly has not one but TWO stop lights! One on either side of the little bridge that's being repaired.
Oh, we feel so sophisticated!

Oh, the goldfinches blow me away! It looks like the stoplights are temporary. By the time the bridge work is finished, you'll probably be glad to see the lights gone again.

wonderful shots. I really like the goldfinch photo. The yellow is so wonderful to see on these birds.

Just lovely as always. I wish they would use those automatic stop lights around here. When they do any work on 276 they have flagmen and sometimes even a pilot car. (As if you could not recognize the road!) Traffic snarls. But I suppose they figure at least a few people would ignore the light. And they are probably right.

Your Goldfinches are so different to ours. Both varieties, quite beautiful.

Spring is so beautiful where you live. We just saw our first snake too so it is getting spring-like here as well. I am so glad you like my post about the Vasa.

Lucky for you that the stop lights are only temporary. -- barbara

Snakes... ewwww! I don't think I've ever seen a portable stoplight.

Wonderful pictures, Vicki. I'm so glad your rhododendrons were unscathed by the cold nights.

I didn't know a wee little garter snake could get his mouth around a field mouse!

Love to see snakes. It means someone is tending to the rodents! Work work work.

That makes me smile.. There are 3 sets of lights in the half mile I walk to work! Love the finches, so bright, not like ours at all.

Well, make the most of it, it won't last for long, none of it.

Our goldfinches look quite different.
