At the River

Our little riverside park, where the rafting companies put in to go down river to Hot Springs, is being enlarged and tidied up.
This silo was the inspiration for a scene in In a Dark Season where the valiant Phillip had to climb up and then down into it in search of. . . something awful.

Of course, in my imagining, it was at least twice as tall.

Things always tend to be larger in my mind, too!

Yes, dramatic license. Looks like the river's up some, too.

It might have been twice as tall in your imagination, but in reality it is pretty tall. But what use is imagination id it can't stretch things?

Looks beautiful there. Water and trees, something I miss here.

Wish that it was arm enough to be putting in the rafts.

Had to smile at the silo. My imagination had it at least twice that tall! Love seeing your inspiration pictures.

funny how imagination will do that...its cool though that you can find inspiration anywhere....

Lovely park. We went down to the river yesterday. Because of the rain the river was up and fast dragging all kinds of stuff down river. Including a domestic goose that I startled as I walked to the new bank, the old one being underwater. It honked it's way into the main river. But the photo says it was paddling, not being totally swept away.

We have a park that is amazingly similar. It is also being cleaned up. Alas, we lack a silo but we have quite the imagination fueled by reading your books.

Scary silo. It looks a bit like the caretaker's chimney boiler room in my book.
I like seeing your neighbourhood.
