Everywhere I Turn. . .

 The clematis are blooming . . .

 And a climbing rose . . .

I walked out back and this butterfly (A Spicebush Swallowtail, I think) landed on my hand . . .
I think it must have just emerged from its cocoon -- it seemed kind of clueless. . .

But eventually it found the rhododendron . . .

And at last the rain came! It's been dry and a nice downpour is most welcome. . .

April showers bring May flowers, they say. . .

I think almost everything is already blooming.

Why there you are! I missed you this morning, being my "first-cuppa-reading" usually. Yes to the rain. Yes to beautiful flowers and a butterfly that thought you were it's mamma.

I had the post scheduled for just after midnight as usual but for whatever reason, Blogger chose not to post it then. Ah, Blogger....

Beautiful photos! Blogger wasn't letting me post comments last night......

I've had that problem on some other blogs, Rick. Weird.

The pond is pretty easily maintained. The filter has to be cleaned maybe every other week in summer time and that's it. No koi, just ordinary goldfish.

Lovely photos, Vicki! This rain is wonderful, isn't it? Most welcome to our parched soil...

It really is early for rhododendron---everything seems to be about a month ahead this year. My clematis aren't blooming yet, but will be soon. It's looking like my Autumn Joy sedum will be Summer Joy this year. :-)

Beautiful photos, as usual, Vicki. And Blogger has been giving me fits all week. Maybe they were bought out by my local telephone co-op? Jim

Vicki, I am so enjoying visiting your site, and seeing where you live through your creative eyes...I may now have to add North Carolina to an area of my Country Dreams.

(I know that I also must delve into your novels. Let me mention that my favorite crime writer is Ian Rankin.)

Is that a Percy Wiseman rhododendron? Have one of those that looks very similar. I love the colors. Lovely photos.
