My mother's favorite color was blue. She wore blue every day. Somehow it never translated to me, although I do look good in blue. Lovely collage Vicki. sam
Thanks, Jennyfreckles! The collage function on Picasa is fun to play with!
Good morning, Pat! More rain?
:-), Martin!
You DO look good in blue, Sam! It's a color I wear too -- if it's a deep bright blue -- good with the white hair (me and Barbara Bush -- but I don't wear big pearls.)
Mine too. And my husband's. When it comes to shirts, his motto is 'Any color as long as it's blue.'
I followed the first link, Miss Yves. Love the big blue sponge! Will try the second one now.
The way of blue-nice! Blue makes me think of 2 things-it is Pap's favorite color-and the old nursery rhyme "little boy blue come blow your horn the sheeps in the meadow and the cows in the corn"
This is so beautiful! I have to add to this collage of words and images a song that comes to mind: Nina Simone's cover of "Little Boy Blue." Worth a listen. Thank you for this beautiful start to my Sunday!
I think you've been playing with Picassa again Vicki, haven't you? It gave me an idea... my son David is getting married soon, as you know cos you follow my Blog. The theme of their wedding is going to be 'blue'. Incidentally, the hydrangeas that I grow are always pink, so if those are yours, the ph in your soil must be very different to mine over here. Blessings, Star
This is a creative collage with beautiful shades of blue. My youngest daughter was crazy about blue when she was a wee girl (although she still likes the color a lot.) She had to eat in a blue plate, with a blue glass, blue towels, blue sheets, blue soap, blue clothes, blue birthday cake, blue blanket (which she carried everywhere) blue barrettes, books covered in blue, blue shoes (navy OK) blue toys, you see what I mean… when she grew up a little she started to make “blue experiments” and would go in the bathroom and mixed blue soap powder with blue shampoo and blue candy, and so forth. The results were….weird. I don’t know how she got that way… she was not a “blue” baby – I was. My mother told me I was born “blue” and they had to revive me. So when my grandmother told me we had “blue blood” in the family I thought I understood why I was born blue….
Yes, I have, Star. But Picasa wouldn't let me rearrange the pictures the way I really wanted to.Re hydrangeas, our soil is acid -- yours must be chalky.
Too funny about your daughter, Vagabonde -- I've never heard of a child that fond of a color.
Blue (all shades of it) is my favourite colour. When I think of the colour blue it evokes thoughts of the sea & the sky just as are depicted in your beautiful collage. It also reminds me of my children whose eyes are reminiscent of the colour of the bluest skies. Blue to me = Peace & serenity

I'm the author of The Elizabeth Goodweather Appalachian Mysteries from Bantam Dell. The series includes SIGNS IN THE BLOOD (LA MONTAGNE DES SECRETS in France), ART'S BLOOD, (LE SECRET DES APPALACHES in France,) OLD WOUNDS,IN A DARK SEASON (Anthony Nominee, Best PBO), and UNDER THE SKIN. There's also THE DAY OF SMALL THINGS (a spinoff/standalone)chronicling the unexpected life story of Miss Birdie, one of Elizabeth's neighbors.
I came to this weird business late (my first novel was published in 2005) and am still trying to figure it out.
As my novels are set in a place much like my real life home, I thought I'd use this blog to share pictures of our farm and county. I've been blogging for over four years now, on an almost daily basis, and the topics have ranged from writing, chickens, food, books, quilts, flora and fauna of all sorts, to the occasional tiny rant. There's no plan, but there are lots of pictures.
There's more information about me and my books on my web site: http://vickilanemysteries.com/

My favourite colour...I love the way you create new pictures out of your photos, Vicki.
Absolutely stunning!
If I say thank you for giving us the 'blues', I'm sure you won't take it the wrong way.

Thank you, Friko! We do live with many of these blues!

This is a very 'eye candy' kind of post and with some 'sweet' words to go along with it. Nice touch and a very creative thing to do.
