This is just to say:
I have laid delicate slices of those fragrant pears
On tender green leaves of lettuce and arugula,
Sent a drift of gorgonzola over their melting tenderness,
Anointed the union with a drizzle of virgin olive oil
And a sprinkle of white balsamic vinegar.
A riot of toasted pecans finishes the salad.
So cool, so sweet, so crunchy
That it is consumed before I remember
To take a picture

Forgetting the photo occurs a lot, but most are incapable of writing a poem about our dessert.
Lovely - they look and sound so tasty.
We were served sliced pears on a bed of butter lettuce with a sprinkle of pecans at a friend's house on Saturday. Not sure of how the dressing was made by it all was divine. He had put the pears in a brown bag to ripen. I need to remember that.
As for that serving dish you commented on with the turkey spread out on it - I gave that to Emily one Christmas years ago. I purchased it from a blogger who also had an Etsy account selling antiques. It is a lovely platter.
It sounds delicious, and I'm sure it looked beautiful.
